Jaeden Izik-Dzurko, Pianist

From Salmon Arm, BC, 20-year-old Jaeden Izik-Dzurko is gaining recognition for his exceptional communicative power and compelling interpretations. 

     He won the Grand Prize at the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals’ National Competition, Juilliard’s Gina Bachauer International Piano Scholarship Competition, Third Prize and Peter Takács Classical Sonata award at the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, and is a laureate of the Cochran International Piano Competition.

      Currently studying at Juilliard with Yoheved Kaplinsky, Jaeden has performed with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, the Kamloops Symphony, and Lions Gate Sinfonia. He has been featured in national broadcasts on CBC and NPR.

      A passionate advocate for Canadian compositions, Jaeden was selected to perform a solo concert in honour of Canada’s sesquicentennial. His captivating performance of Canadian Ernst Schneider’s Romantic Piano Concerto with the OSO will be included on an upcoming CD of Canadian concertos.
